This winter has already OVERSTAYED it's welcome in Seattle. Starting with wind in late fall, then record amounts of snowfall that went on for weeks over the holidays, followed by record amounts of flooding to start the new year, and now socked in fog for a week. We have spent too much time in doors for months weeks.
Yesterday we woke up and decided to head to the zoo. We bundled up and expected to see fog all the way to Seattle. Much to our surprise as soon as we got out of Mill Creek it was beautiful. Clear blue skies, lots of sun, and crisp air. We spent a couple hours walking and seeing lots of playful animals.
The tiger was loving the sun and roaring every time he walked through it. Lucas plugged his ears and said he was scary. He wanted to know if he could get out. We reassured him that he was just saying "hi". He is still in love with the monkeys. He laughed as they stared back at him and swung from tree to tree. He also likes the elephants. He thought watching them poo was especially interesting. Boys will be boys...
