Woodland Park Zoo - Bunny Bounce!!!

The day before Easter we went to the Bunny Bounce at the Woodland Park Zoo with Jenny and Andrew!!! They had a toddler Easter egg hunt, craft stations for making bunny ears, and a chance to sit on the Easter Bunny or a penguins lap. I was thinking no way is he going to do that. Two weeks earlier he would not even touch the characters in Disneyland. Well, to my surprise, he walked right up, jumped on his lap, smiled for a picture, and high fived them on his way out! When we got off the stage he told me, "mommy I'm not scared, he is just pretend"!!! What?! Are you kidding me?!

Lucas can you see?!

Yes, they are holding hands. So cute!
Lucas LOVES monkeys! Even bronze ones!

Oceanside!

Here are some other random shots of our trip!!!! The day we arrived was my 27th birthday, Dad and Cindy had the condo all decorated in my honor!!! It was so thoughtful!!! We saved the last day for the beach, and it just happened to be the worst day, as far as, cloudy with limited sun breaks. We still took a long walk to park in the sand, had lunch at the end of the pier at Ruby's, and took a brief swim in the freezing pool.

Day one we filled up on sea food at Joe's!

This was the first day, and the day we should have spent at the beach. It was sunny and warm.

Splashing Daddy because he was the only one bravest to get in the frigid waters.
In every part of the trip the stars seemed to truly align. The lines were short, and we just seemed to be in the right place at the right time every step of the way! Lucas said his two favorite rides were the Disneyland Train and the teacups. He would scream with glee and tell Daddy to go faster as the cup spun!!!! While getting on the Mark Twain Boat the captain asked if we would like to go to the top and get the best view on the boat!!! Lucas got to steer, toot the horn, and ring the bells!!! We got almost every moment of it on tape! He loved it!
The whole family on the top of the Mark Twain boat.

The Happiest Place on Earth!!! Disney 2009!

Day three and four: The happiest place on Earth....Disneyland! Lucas was by far the MOST excited about Disneyland!!! He was talking about it for weeks, well lets be honest months! It was everything that we expected and more. He was still a little young and scared of the characters. I think that part of the experience will be better as he gets a little older. We all (Dad and Cindy included) loved seeing the pure joy in his eyes at every turn!!!

Riding the tram from the parking lot!
SO EXCITED!!! The cutest little Mickey ever!
Lucas got TWO, yes two, ear hats! He had to have the "Cars" one, so Nana and Papa got that for him, and mommy and daddy got him the traditional "My First Trip to Disneyland"! Daddy sported them for awhile!
The first character was a little much...but it got better.

Chip n' Dale playing with Lucas' ball!!!

Still not so sure about this!

The longest line we waited in was to see Mickey! But it was worth every second!
See...he was liking it a little.

Okay, well mommy is lovin' it!

Papa and Lu!!!
L is for LUCAS!

Priceless!

Soakin' it all in!

Shamu + Sun = SeaWorld in San Diego

Day Two: We got up early to hit SeaWorld as the doors were opening! We had plans for a picnic with Shamu, and wanted to see all the exhibits and shows in one packed day! Lucas knew all about SeaWorld and was beaming with excitement. We fed the Morays some yummy sardines; I jumped when they sucked them right out of my hand. That was a little too scary for Lucas, but he loved throwing food to the flamingos! We wandered through the shark exhibit, a couple aquariums, and enjoyed watching the penguins. We saw the Shamu Show Believe, the Dolphin Show, and the Pet Show. I hope you can see the story of our day through the pictures below!
Waiting for the dolphin show to begin!
We got SOAKED in the soak zone at the dolphin show, ugh!

The cutest kid in San Diego!
Shamu!!! Absolutely breath taking!!!

Looking for dolphins!

I personally think this was Lucas' favorite show...the Pet Show!!! He loved all the silly animal tricks!

The have a new Sesame Street playland at SeaWorld. It was complete with rides, character, a store, and a splash park. Lucas LOVED seeing Elmo!
We got him cotton candy as a bribe to spend some time in his stroller and give days arm a break!

The grounds at SeaWorld were breath taking! Lucas loved the flowers and we had to stop him from picking them. He was a pretty happy guy all day considering NO nap!
