When I wrote about 'Colby's Bad Day' I forgot to mention his measurements. At 6 weeks, 2 days he was 9lb 12.5oz putting him in the 30% for his age, 22 3/4in putting him in the 75%, and I can't remember his exact head circumference but he it was in the 55%. His little social smiles absolutely melt my heart!
We love to share our pictures and stories of raising a family of boys!

Fun with Family!
We are so grateful that Uncle Cody, Aunt Kira and cousin Will came to Washington to meet Colby! We had a fun, productive, and relaxing weekend. It was wonderful to share stories during meals, watch the boys play together and get acquainted, take walks, and play at the park. One of the mornings while they were here we got together with the extended family as well. Si's cousins brought their kids over to play, and Si's grandparents got to watch 10 of their great-grandchildren play. Cody and Kira also wanted to help around the house with tasks that are not easy with a newborn. Cody and Si trimmed trees, while Kira and I ran errands, and Grandma Meg watched the boys. The weekend was an absolute treat. Lucas won't stop talking about Will and we can't wait to see him again soon. He is such a fun little firecracker!
Grandma Meg's. They searched for squirrels, listened for woodpeckers, and
even held hands along the way.

6 week check up!
Colby went in for a 6 week check up because I was still a little worried about his jaundice. He seems to still have some yellow coloring in his eyes and skin on his face. The doctor agreed that jaundice should have cleared through his system by six weeks and she decided to do a blood test. We got the results today and as I had suspected his levels are still elevated. A normal baby at six weeks has a bilirubin level of 2 and Colby's is a 7.8. The doctor thinks we should give it one more week and recheck him next Friday. If his levels are not going down we will have to treat it more aggressively with lights and formula. There are factors in breast milk that block the proteins in the level from breaking down the bilirubin.
Colby also got his 2 month vaccinations while we were there, and he ended up having an allergic reaction to the DTaP. He had some projectile vomiting, but according to the nurse it seemed a lot worse than it really was. We just watched him for dehydration and he was much better by morning.

Spring Updates!
Colby is changing so much every day! We tried weighing him on the scale last night and I think he is a little over 9 pounds. He is starting to smile, especially at Daddy, and really tracking objects and lights. He slept for two solid 4 hour chunks last night for the first time last night, and we all feel refreshed today. He is now in size 1 diapers and some of his newborn clothes are too small. I have pumped so he has had a couple bottles from Mimi, Daddy, and Lucas. He is okay with the bottle, but prefers Mommy.
The weather in Seattle has been amazing! Clear blue skies and 70 degrees. We have been trying to take advantage of the nice weather by spending time outside. We went to the zoo one day last week and even had a picnic at Silver Lake the next day! We can sure get used to that.

Meeting the Johnson Family!
Si's aunts hosted a Welcome Baby Colby party at his grandparent's retirement home. We were thrilled to introduce Colby to the Johnson side while he is still so tiny. Colby was showered with gifts, and will be the best dressed little guy thanks to all his cousins and great aunties.
Mini Escape ~ Whidbey Island
Our good friends and neighbors, the Schreiber's, have a little beach house on the water. We hoped a ferry and headed west to Whidbey Island with the intention to spend a night away. Well...we made it till 10pm before packing up and heading home. Even though we left early we had a wonderful day playing on the beach and relaxing with friends!

Colby is growing and we sure love showing him off!
We were thrilled with the surprise visit from my Grandparents who made the trek from Yakima! My Grandma got in three good visits while they were over and lots of snuggle time with Colby! It was also cute to see how excited Lucas was to play with Big Papa. Lucas has gotten over all his shyness since starting preschool and is quite the little character!
Mommy's Birthday!
My 28th Birthday was on Monday! Sunday we celebrated with the Dean family at Aunt Karen's, and the Great Grandparents got to spend lots of time with the boys.
On Monday Si thought we should try to venture out to celebrate my birthday. We decided to head 40 mins north to La Conner to see the tulips. Our thought was Colby could sleep in the car and we could see the sights from the car without much in and out. We had our first meal out and drove past a lot of beautiful flowers. It was far to windy to spend time outside, but we did go in to one tulip farm that had shelter.
Monday evening my mom cooked an amazing dinner and we played a couple games of Yahtzee. It was a fabulous day!
