In every part of the trip the stars seemed to truly align. The lines were short, and we just seemed to be in the right place at the right time every step of the way! Lucas said his two favorite rides were the Disneyland Train and the teacups. He would scream with glee and tell Daddy to go faster as the cup spun!!!! While getting on the Mark Twain Boat the captain asked if we would like to go to the top and get the best view on the boat!!! Lucas got to steer, toot the horn, and ring the bells!!! We got almost every moment of it on tape! He loved it!
We love to share our pictures and stories of raising a family of boys!

The Happiest Place on Earth!!! Disney 2009!
Day three and four: The happiest place on Earth....Disneyland! Lucas was by far the MOST excited about Disneyland!!! He was talking about it for weeks, well lets be honest months! It was everything that we expected and more. He was still a little young and scared of the characters. I think that part of the experience will be better as he gets a little older. We all (Dad and Cindy included) loved seeing the pure joy in his eyes at every turn!!!
Riding the tram from the parking lot!
SO EXCITED!!! The cutest little Mickey ever!
Lucas got TWO, yes two, ear hats! He had to have the "Cars" one, so Nana and Papa got that for him, and mommy and daddy got him the traditional "My First Trip to Disneyland"! Daddy sported them for awhile!

Day Two: We got up early to hit SeaWorld as the doors were opening! We had plans for a picnic with Shamu, and wanted to see all the exhibits and shows in one packed day! Lucas knew all about SeaWorld and was beaming with excitement. We fed the Morays some yummy sardines; I jumped when they sucked them right out of my hand. That was a little too scary for Lucas, but he loved throwing food to the flamingos! We wandered through the shark exhibit, a couple aquariums, and enjoyed watching the penguins. We saw the Shamu Show Believe, the Dolphin Show, and the Pet Show. I hope you can see the story of our day through the pictures below!
I personally think this was Lucas' favorite show...the Pet Show!!! He loved all the silly animal tricks!

San Diego Zoo!!!
Day 1: We went to the World Famous San Diego Zoo. Lucas was up LATE the night before, so we did not get their until noonish; but the weather was perfect by then. We have a membership to the Woodland park zoo, so we were excited to check out the different animals in San Diego. They had Polar, Pandas, and Koalas which we do not have in Seattle. We loved walking all around looking at the exhibits, but Lucas' favorite part was the Guided Bus Tour. We also took a break in the sun for an ice cream treat. It was an all around amazing day!

Priceless!
Airplane tickets - $380
Admission to Disney - $149
Cotton Candy - $3
The joy on Lucas' face when he saw Mickey - PRICELESS!
We just returned from a whirlwind week in southern California! We stayed in Oceanside, an adorable town along the California coast. We chose the location because it was right in between Anaheim and San Diego. We were lucky to spend the week with my Dad and Cindy, so they too could share in Lucas' excitement. Monday we spent the day at the spectacular San Diego Zoo, Tuesday we explored Sea World, Wednesday and Thursday we discovered Disneyland, and Friday we spent relaxing at the condo. Lucas loves being outside so it was the perfect vacation. While at the condo he played soccer on the grass, dug in the sand, and played on a playground right in the sand.
I will post more details about our adventure once I am able to download and post pictures. We have been without our computer for several months...thanks to the poor service at Best Buy. I have been trying to figure out how to download onto the computer we are borrowing and so far no luck. Check back soon!

Sun in Seattle!
This winter has already OVERSTAYED it's welcome in Seattle. Starting with wind in late fall, then record amounts of snowfall that went on for weeks over the holidays, followed by record amounts of flooding to start the new year, and now socked in fog for a week. We have spent too much time in doors for months weeks.
Yesterday we woke up and decided to head to the zoo. We bundled up and expected to see fog all the way to Seattle. Much to our surprise as soon as we got out of Mill Creek it was beautiful. Clear blue skies, lots of sun, and crisp air. We spent a couple hours walking and seeing lots of playful animals.
The tiger was loving the sun and roaring every time he walked through it. Lucas plugged his ears and said he was scary. He wanted to know if he could get out. We reassured him that he was just saying "hi". He is still in love with the monkeys. He laughed as they stared back at him and swung from tree to tree. He also likes the elephants. He thought watching them poo was especially interesting. Boys will be boys...
