For Mother's Day weekend we grabbed our passports and headed for the border! We spent two days seeing the sights of Vancouver. We started by exploring the Greater Vancouver Zoo. It is not nearly as nice as the Woodland Park Zoo, but there was some different animals and fun tours. We rode the train all through the park, then took a guided bus tour to see the bears and Canadian wolves. The highlight was seeing the tigers and lions get hand fed.
After leaving the zoo we headed to our hotel on Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. We took a long walk down the piers. We saw all sorts of seaplanes, cruise ships, and boats. We ate a late lunch outside on the water. After some shopping we went for milkshakes and watched the Canucks in the playoffs. Wow, was it loud and wild!!!
We woke up on Mother's Day and had breakfast on the water, before heading to the aquarium in Stanley Park. It was wonderful!!! We HIGHLY recommend anyone traveling to BC to check it out. They have lots of fish, sharks, and other aquatic animals, but the dolphins and beluga whales are over the top. We watched two beluga training sessions, and an amazing, high flying dolphin show.
We then took some more time checking out Stanley Park. They is so much to do and see, really you need several days. We took a train ride, went to the playground, discovered a petting zoo, and then took a scenic drive around the park.
We can't wait to go back in the future! So much to do, see, and Vancouver is super kid friendly!
